Is the Antminer S15 profitable?

The Bitmain Antminer S15 (28Th) mines Bitcoin on the SHA-256 algorithm at 28 TH/s, drawing 1,596 W (57.0 J/TH). At $0.08 per kWh it earns about $1.05 a day but spends $3.06 on power, so it loses $2.01 a day. It only makes money if your power costs less than about $0.027 per kWh.

That puts it #347 of 522 on daily profit across every miner we track, and #203 of 262 SHA-256 miners on efficiency. It isn’t in stock with us at the moment. It’s an air-cooled unit, released in December 2018.
