Is the Antminer T17 profitable?

The Bitmain Antminer T17 (40Th) mines Bitcoin on the SHA-256 algorithm at 40 TH/s, drawing 2,200 W (55.0 J/TH). At $0.08 per kWh it earns about $1.50 a day but spends $4.22 on power, so it loses $2.72 a day. It only makes money if your power costs less than about $0.028 per kWh.

That puts it #409 of 522 on daily profit across every miner we track, and #199 of 262 SHA-256 miners on efficiency. It isn’t in stock with us at the moment. It’s an air-cooled unit, released in May 2019.
