Is the SC1 profitable?

The Obelisk SC1 mines Siacoin and ScPrime on the Blake2b algorithm at 550 GH/s, drawing 500 W (909 J/TH). At $0.08 per kWh it earns about $0.43 a day but spends $0.96 on power, so it loses $0.53 a day. It only makes money if your power costs less than about $0.036 per kWh.

That puts it #265 of 522 on daily profit across every miner we track, and #25 of 26 Blake2b miners on efficiency. It isn’t in stock with us at the moment. It’s an air-cooled unit, released in June 2018.
