The Canaan AvalonMiner 1047 mines Bitcoin on the SHA-256 algorithm at 37 TH/s, drawing 2,380 W (64.3 J/TH). At $0.08 per kWh it earns about $1.39 a day but spends $4.57 on power, so it loses $3.18 a day. It only makes money if your power costs less than about $0.024 per kWh.
