The Canaan AvalonMiner 1066 mines Bitcoin on the SHA-256 algorithm at 50 TH/s, drawing 3,250 W (65.0 J/TH). At $0.08 per kWh it earns about $1.88 a day but spends $6.24 on power, so it loses $4.36 a day. It only makes money if your power costs less than about $0.024 per kWh.
