Is the Antminer S17 profitable?

The Bitmain Antminer S17 (56Th) mines Bitcoin on the SHA-256 algorithm at 56 TH/s, drawing 2,520 W (45.0 J/TH). At $0.08 per kWh it earns about $2.10 a day but spends $4.84 on power, so it loses $2.74 a day. It only makes money if your power costs less than about $0.035 per kWh.

That puts it #411 of 522 on daily profit across every miner we track, and #183 of 262 SHA-256 miners on efficiency. It isn’t in stock with us at the moment. It’s an air-cooled unit, released in April 2019.
